The immense success of IPL hair removal can be attributed to the high satisfaction levels of clients and the high success rate of treatments. In 2010, IPL hair removal was the third most common cosmetic procedure in the United States.
IPL continues to grow in popularity as the safest and most effective permanent hair removal technique. There are no dangers involved with IPL hair removal, all our machines are FDA approved ensuring the safest most technologically advanced hair removal treatments available in the beauty industry.
The only function of the technology is hair-reduction, so it will only affect and treat hair follicles.
There may be a mild redness or irritation after the treatment, as the follicles may be slightly swollen from the treatment. IPL is not only extremely effective for permanent hair removal; it actually reduces the possibility of ingrown hairs. Many clients opt for IPL hair removal to avoid and alleviate ingrown hairs.
There is no evidence to show that IPL hair removal affects pregnancy, however, we do not perform IPL treatments on pregnant clients.
If you miss a treatment, you won’t receive the full benefit of your IPL course.
Ensure that you attend every single scheduled treatment on the date it has been scheduled, as your particular plan is tailored to suit your needs. Always make sure you are wearing an SPF30+ product.
It is best not to directly expose the treated area to the sun. If you have any health concerns at all, it is in your interest to consult a doctor.
Keep your skin clean, but do not exfoliate the treatment area for three days after your treatment. You can have a spray on tan after your treatment, however we recommend exfoliating any reside off before your next IPL appointment.
No other tan is permitted and self-tanners and bronzers must be gone by the time of next appointment.
It is strongly recommended that you don’t have any micro dermabrasion treatments one week either side of your IPL treatment.
You must avoid chlorinated water for at least two days after your treatment.
Depending on your medical history, hair and skin type usually between 6 and 14 sessions. We recommend treatment sessions depending on your hair and skin type every 3-6 weeks. To achieve the best results, it is important that you stay within the recommended treatment plan frequency. Feel free to shave as often as you wish. We recommend leaving the hair to grow three days beforehand to allow us to assess the progress of the IPL hair removal.
You may need to have a maintenance touch up treatment every 6 months or once per year once you have finished your entire course. Hormonal changes can activate dormant (non-active) hair follicles and stimulate a small amount of new hair growth.
