How should I prepare for my spray tan?
We ask that you gently exfoliate your entire body. Using too harsh of an exfoliate, loofah, mitt or “soft” puff may shorten the life of the tan and give undesirable results like splotching.
Do not wear deodorant, lotions, body oils, makeup, perfume, moisturizers, creams or acne medication.
If you have any of these products on your skin your tan will be fluorescent green in areas these products are applied.
Wax, manicure or pedicure a minimum of 24 hours before your tan. Shave legs 8 hours or more prior to your tan.
Is sunless tanning safe?
Yes. Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is the primary ingredient used in sunless products. It was approved by the FDA in 1973 for external use. DHA is derived from a vegetable source such as beets or sugar cane. DHA has not been tested on pregnant woman. Pregnant woman should consult with their doctor first and provide you with a written permission form prior to their spray tan.
How long after my spray tan should I wait before I shower and wash?
DHA takes 10 hours to fully develop. 8 to 12 hours is recommended.
Will spray tanning stain clothes?
The immediate bronzers may stain nylon, silk, spandex, wool, lycra and other fine fabrics. These bronzers do wash off when you shower after your spray tan. We recommend that you wear loose fitting clothes after your spray tan until you shower.
How long will my spray tan last?
There are many factors that will determine how long your spray tan will last.
Do you have dry skin? Did you properly prepare for your tan and properly maintain your tan?
Also going swimming, soaking in a hot tub and long hot showers will shorten the life of your tan. However, with proper care it is not uncommon for your spray tan to last at least 7 days.
