Kathy Matteo

From the surf and sand of Sonoma, California, Kathy has found the beautiful northern coast of Oregon to be her home. After attending beauty school in Napa, California, she moved to Oregon in 1998. Kathy opened Wave Whackers soon after and honed her skills, building a friendly rapport with the locals in the process.
Last year, in 2009, when her friend Sheridan bought Shear Pleasures Salon and Spa, Kathy moved her business and clientele to join her.

Kathy’s specialties are precision cuts, perms and color. She is an expert at shampoo, set and style with back combing, which is quickly becoming a lost art.

Kathy lives in Hammond with her husband, where she enjoys gardening and raising chickens. She also takes advantage of Clatsop County’s history and scenic beauty with bike rides at Fort Stevens National Park.
